Beginning life as the Auckland Council Workshops, City Works Depot has survived many reincarnations to become a diverse neighbourhood of businesses that make and create.
City Works Depot started life as the Auckland Council Workshops. Developed by the City in 1968 under thure and maintenance departments at a time when the Council’s own staff fixed streets and maintained parks. Sold by the City in 1992 the property sat largely idle until Tournament’s purchase in 2012. It has since been carefully adapted and restored.
The iconic City Works Depot sits between Ponsonby and Freemans Bay to the West and the City to the East. A collaboration of diverse and creative tenancies, we are a neighbourhood of businesses that make and create.
